STEVENS POINT -- A drawdown of the Wisconsin River, which will expose the channel for the first time in decades, has authorities worried enough to seek military Black Hawk helicopters to rescue stranded curiosity-seekers.
"There will be people going out into the mud and the muck with metal detectors looking for fishing lures," said Sgt. Paul Piotrowski of the Stevens Point Police Department in central Wisconsin. "It's not a good idea to be going out there. You're just asking for trouble."
