ERS Railways will start running a weekly intermodal train between Shenzen, China, and Pardubice, Czech Republic, in the third quarter of the year.
The 12,000km journey will take 17 days by rail, compared with 30 by sea, and follows a year of testing and evaluation. The operation will see one 104-wagon container train split in two in Poland, from where they will be hauled as two trains to Pardubice.
