General Motors' $10 billion cost-cutting program includes a long-running sponsorship contract with New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.

The speedway and Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn.,--both of which are owned by Speedway Motorsports Inc.--have been told by GM that their current contracts will not be renewed. Observers say the cuts may be the first step in what could be a big drop in support by GM, Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler LLC for tracks and teams in NASCAR's top three professional divisions, the NHRA and other racing series.
