Tired of hot, muggy summer days?
A cool alternative is open ice skating sessions, for kids and adults, at some north suburban rinks, including arenas in Coon Rapids, Andover and Brooklyn Park.
The Fripp family, of Ramsey, tried open skating at Joe Cook Ice Arena in Coon Rapids last year and it's become a weekly event for their young daughter.
"The big group lessons are fabulous," said Loreen Fripp. "They take time to teach the kids. There's itty-bitty ones on the ice with them. It's a family oriented sort of place. You feel like you belong to something special." Cook Arena offers skating lessons for different age groups as well ...
