RUMOURS that Linlithgow Police Station could be about to close have been dismissed by a top cop.
However, newly re-elected Linlithgow Councillor Tom Kerr remains concerned about the future of policing in the town.
And he said: "People should be aware that there have even been rumours like this."
When alerted to the issue, Councillor Kerr was so alarmed he wrote to West Lothian's Chief Superintendent Bill Skelly.
Explaining why, he said: "I have been advised Linlithgow Police Station is likely to close very soon, and all police officers will then be stationed in Broxburn.
