AROUND 300 people turned up to witness the unveiling of a memorial to mining in Bo'ness.
Old miners, their friends and relations, paraded from Lidl's car park in Main Street to the memorial site off Union Street.
They were led by UNISON Kinneil Band and the parade included probably the oldest living former miner in Bo'ness, Dick Bernard (90), as well as Mrs Bessie Smith, a former pithead worker at the old Dock Pit, which was formally known as Carriden Colliery.
Bo'ness Fair Queen Sarah Penman laid her bouquet at the [pounds sterling]70,000 memorial towards the end of a dedication service led by the Reverend Albert Bogle.
