China's iron ore stockpiles hit 73.42 mln tons on August 15
Shanghai. August 19. INTERFAX-CHINA - Iron ore stockpiles at China's 23 major ports reached 73.42 million tons on Friday, Aug. 15, up 0.52 percent from Aug. 8, while Indian iron ore stockpiles increased by 0.87 percent to 20.90 million tons, according to figures released by Shanghai-based Mysteel.
Over the week, spot market prices for imported iron ore fell modestly due to ongoing price drops in the downstream steel product market.
Transaction volume remained low with purchasers adopting a wait-and-see approach.
