Amoco Power Resources Corporation has joined with Camuzzi Argentina by purchasing 40% of a company that will build, own and operate an electric power generating facility in southern Argentina.
The company, Energia del Sur SA, will build and operate the Central Termica Patagonia generating plant in Comodoro Rivadavia, located almost 1,000 miles south of Buenos Aires. The plant will consist of two General Electric Frame-6 gas turbines that will produce a total of 77MW of electricity. General Electric and its local partner, SADE, will install the turbines, associated generation equipment and inter-connections to the natural gas and electric grids.
