Leading shares were easier in midafternoon trade, giving back an earlier rally as an opening advance on Wall Street proved short-lived, with recovery by oil prices on supply issues putting the pressure back on markets. At 3:14 p.m., the FTSE 100 index was 2.1 points lower at 5,452.7, while the FTSE 250 index was 84.1 points weaker at 9,110.8.In early deals on Wall Street, the DJIA was 55.70 points firmer at 11,604.2, while the broader S&P 500 index was 6.40 points easier at 1,291.80, and the tech-laden Nasdaq composite lost 11.54 points at 2,440.98.
