The Evangeline Parish Ward 1 Fire District 2 is in line for a new pumper truck and other equipment thanks to a U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development grant and loan.U.S. Reps. Charles Boustany Jr., R-Lafayette, and Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, on Friday announced the $20,000 grant and $180,000 loan.Based in Ville Platte, District 2 covers much of the southeastern parts of the parish as far as Chataignier.
