Weight Watchers agrees with the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) that consumers need to make informed decisions about joining a weight loss service and that industry-wide standards should be developed. In fact, in 1993, Weight Watchers filed a petition for a trade regulation rule which the FTC denied. This ruling is still under appeal.
