WARWICKSHIRE'S forgotten Dunkirk heroes are among those remembered in a new book which tells the story of the soldiers who fought to keep the beaches safe.
Published on the 66th anniversary of the evacuation, Hugh Sebag-Montefiore's Dunkirk - Fight to the Last Man tells the story of the role played by the 2nd Royal Warwickshire Regiment in defending the retreating allies against the German onslaught.
Ordered to fight "to the last man and the last round", these men were among those who protected the corridor to the beach, enabling most of the British Expeditionary Force to escape.
