WHEN Martin Smith was arrested for stealing a satellite navigation system from a car and trying to steal a CD player, he was already serving a sentence for burglary.
And when the police questioned him in prison about those two incidents he confessed to a staggering 226 further offences, Warwick Crown Court has heard.
Smith. 31, of Richards Grove, Leamington, pleaded guilty to charges of theft, attempted theft and asked for the other offences to be taken into consideration.
He was jailed for ten months, which Recorder Jill Darbyshire ordered should be served consecutive to the sentence of three years and six weeks which Smith is already serving. ...
