Jun. 1--Construction is under way on the first of three 21-unit oceanfront condominium buildings in Amelia Island Plantation, another sign of the return of oceanfront condominiums.
The first $6.5 million condominium building in the Beachside Villas project is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 1997, said Brad Glass, vice president of The Auchter Co. Auchter also will begin work within the next month on a $3.2 million clubhouse for the project.
The 21,000-square-foot clubhouse will take eight months to construct, Glass said.
Beachside Villas is only one of several recent luxury condominium projects.
