The Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union recently negotiated a new five-year contract at the Tyson Foods poultry-processing plant in Shelbyville, Tenn. Under the new contract the plant's workers were to get eight paid holidays, as before; but Labor Day was no longer to be one of the eight. It was replaced by the Muslim holiday Eid al-Fitr.
