DONALD Huggett is embarking on the race of a lifetime - at eight miles an hour.
The adventurous pensioner from Norwich plans to take five days to travel on his mobility buggy to Staplefield and hopes to raise hundreds of pounds for sick children.
Donald's efforts bear some resemblance to those seen in The Straight Story, a movie which told the tale of an old man who travelled across America on a sit down lawn mower to visit his brother.
By anyone's standards Donald is a remarkable man. The 72-year-old has arthritis, Parkinson's Disease and diabetes but is determined to make the trip, staying in bed and breakfast on the way.
