The massive Highway 11 widening work through cottage country continues this season as the $250 million project rolls into its third year.
The Ministry of Transportation Ontario says the expansion of Highway 11 to four lanes from north of South River to south of Sundridge and from Katrine to Burk s Falls is on schedule, as is work on the advance embankment project on the highway at Robins Road and Black Creek Road.
The work is part of a 10-year plan which has seen close to $500 million poured into road improvements and widenings between Huntsville and North Bay since 2000. The current round involves about 6,000 construction jobs. ...
