BALTIMORE _ For the past 20 years, Dennis Rawlins has taken more shots at Adm. Richard Byrd's reputation than a skeet shooter.
Now he's in his glory.
Of course, he won't say he's in his glory.
What Rawlins says is that Byrd was, after all is said and done, a great explorer.
He says this over a turkey, ham and cheese sandwich that wasn't on the menu, one prepared particularly for him, which he then checks to ascertain that the kitchen has, as he requested, left out the mayo.
``I ended up admiring Byrd more than before,'' he says.
