GOVERNORS at King Edward VII School have come out strongly against the preferred option for a shake-up of secondary schools in Melton and the Vale of Belvoir.
County Hall is proposing to remodel Belvoir High School in Bottesford to provide a 600-place 11-16 school by 2008 and to develop three 11-19 schools in Melton each of 800 places (for 11-16-year-olds) on existing sites plus a jointly managed post 16 centre of 600 places by 2009.
A final round of consultation is already under way, but governors at King Edward VII have raised major concerns about the route map.
