Article: ELECTIONS FOIL BYPASS MEETING.

A PUBLIC meeting to call local politicians and highways chiefs to account over Melton's traffic gridlock has been postponed.

Organisers have been forced to delay the meeting, originally scheduled for March 30, because of the local elections on May 3.

The latest date for the publication of the notice of election is March 27 which marks the start of what is called the purdah period, intended to stop councillors or political groups using the council to gain an electoral advantage.
