A veteran labor lawyer who was elected general president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters in 1998, James P. Hoffa is on a mission to build the 104-year-old union into the strongest, most powerful voice in North America for working families.

As the son of the late Teamsters President James R. Hoffa, the younger Hoffa literally grew up on picket lines and in union meetings. He received his own union card on his 18th birthday and was sworn in by his father.
