Article: Dockyard ceremony marks Trafalgar Day.

A SOLEMN ceremony at Portsmouth Naval Base marked the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.

About 150 top brass, along with naval and civilian personnel, turned out for the service commemorating Britain's greatest ever naval victory 201 years ago and the death of Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson.

The ceremony aboard HMS Victory started with a short reading by Lieutenant Commander John Sciviers, commanding officer of Victory, before the sun shone through during the prayer from Roman Catholic senior navy chaplain Richard Madders.
