Firefighters believe a pile of leaves and rubbish had been set alight after being pushed against a fire exit at the back of the Mountbatten Leisure Centre in Twyford Avenue, Stamshaw, Portsmouth.

The twelve firefighters in attendance put out the blaze within a few minutes.
The fire door was completely destroyed and is being replaced.
