A high-profile gay activist yesterday accused the Catholic Church of "grave robbery" over plans to move the body of a Victorian Cardinal buried next to his male companion in aWorcestershire cemetery to a new location in Birmingham.
Peter Tatchell claims the Vatican wants to remove the remains of Cardinal John Henry Newman from the Oratory Country House, in Rednal, Worcestershire, because he is due to become a saint and it cannot stand the thought that he may have been homosexual.
