Heroes of Preston North End's glorious past turned out on Monday to remember former full-back Joe Walton.
Family, friends and former team-mates packed Preston Crematorium for the funeral of 81-year-old Joe, who lost his long battle with illness on New Year's Eve.
North End legends Sir Tom Finney, Tommy Thompson, George Ross and Eric Jones were among mourners who heard tributes to a man who played a major role in North End history and led a life "filled with laughter."
Team-mate Eric Jones told them of how Manchester United manager Sir Matt Busby asked the full-back to stay at Old Trafford before his move to Preston in 1948.
