ORLANDO, Fla., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The Walt Disney Company Foundation today presented Orlando Mayor Glenda Hood with a $2 million gift to help launch the community fundraising effort for a world class performing arts center in downtown Orlando.
The gift was presented to Mayor Hood during mid-day ceremonies in City Hall by Judson Green, President of Walt Disney Attractions.
"The Walt Disney Company's very existence is predicated on artistic accomplishment. It is therefore appropriate that The Walt Disney Company Foundation help launch the funding campaign that will turn this dream into a reality," said Green.
