If you don't appreciate bats, it's probably because you've never really hung around with them.
Or it could be because of their reputation as less than desirable friends and neighbors.
Think about Dracula, about vampires, about bats portrayed as sinister creatures of the night. Bats who attack, get tangled in your hair, snarl, screech, bite _ who seemingly were put on Earth for the sole mission of spreading rabies.
They have monstrous little gargoyle faces, looks only a mother could love ...
But they're largely misunderstood!
True, they do their best work in the dark, but most of their image problem is misconception, rooted in folklore ...
