ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Uncertain times call for bold action, and the times for the chain drug industry have never been less certain, according to National Association of Chain Drug Stores president and chief executive officer Ron Ziegler.
With the future clouded by the rise of third-party pharmacy benefits management and the efforts by vertically integrated drug manufacturers to dominate that market, Ziegler says drug chains must take steps to control their own destiny.
