Article: NEW SURVEY QUANTIFIES LACK OF NETWORK NEWS COVERAGE OF HISPANIC ISSUES

CHICAGO, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Although Hispanics comprise nearly 10 percent of the U.S. population and are rapidly growing, a new survey indicates that they receive only one percent of news coverage on the evening newscasts of ABC, CBS, NBC networks.

Worse, the few stories that do cover Hispanics are generally negative in tone, dealing with subjects such as crime, immigration, affirmative action, and welfare.
