COTTAGE GROVE - Warnings posted on the doors of the restrooms and a bulletin board outside the concession stand did little to deter visitors to Dorena Lake's Baker Bay Park on Friday from enjoying the warm water and good weather.
The state Department of Human Services and the Lane County Health Department issued a health advisory Friday for the lake because of high algae levels. The advisory is believed to be the first in the history of Dorena Lake, said Deanna Conners, public health toxicologist with the state Department of Human Services.
