BIRMINGHAM, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10, 1996--Alabama National BanCorporation (Nasdaq/NM:ALAB) and FIRSTBANC HOLDING COMPANY, INC. today announced they have signed a definitive agreement under which FIRSTBANC will merge with Alabama National. FIRSTBANC is the holding company for First Bank of Baldwin County which will become the eighth bank or thrift owned by Alabama National.
The transaction is subject to the approval of FIRSTBANC's shareholders, the receipt of appropriate regulatory approvals and a due diligence review by Alabama National. The acquisition is expected to be completed by December 31, 1996.
