Chilean iron and steel group CAP could be setting its sights on exporting steel to fellow Latin American countries with a recently announced expansion to 3Mt/y over the next five years, analyst Juan Jose Ponce with Santiago investment firm LarrainVial told BNamericas.
"I think that CAP intends to grow along with Chilean demand and also to export more," Ponce said, adding that the most likely targets are Peru, Colombia and Mexico.
