BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. _ The memories will stay with Corey Pavin for the rest of his life: hitting the sensational uphill 4-wood shot to the 72d green at Shinnecock Hills, holding the silver championship cup, hoisting the champagne toast with family and friends on the clubhouse balcony at sunset.
