IT was just past 4pm when I logged into Teenspot.com. As the name suggests it is designed for teenagers and despite originating in America it is popular with thousands of children in the UK.

Sites like this are often described as "underground" chat rooms because they are not monitored and provided by the major Internet service providers like Yahoo or Tiscali.

I entered the Teenspot site thinking the talk would be between like-minded teenagers just wanting to make friends.
