The final stage of a [pounds sterling]28m project will see sand return to Morecambe's beaches.
Around 90 tons of sand and 20 tons of rubble will be transported to Morecambe's seafront in the last phase of a coastal works scheme that has spanned 16 years.
Three of the town's beaches will benefit from a facelift, and the sand will cover the existing surface, help to protect the seafront and increase tourism in the area.
The [pounds sterling]13m needed to complete the work will be funded by Defra.
Coun Janice Hanson, cabinet member for engineering coastal works has been working on the project for the last three years.
She said: ...
