Andy Brooks of the Tri-Preston Club made his presence felt in one of the North West's most popular races, the Cheshire Sprint Triathlon in and around Nantwich.
Brooks chose the hottest weekend of the year to
improve on his early-season form.
The Nantwich event attracts novices and charity runners, mixing with more seasoned athletes, and this year there were some red-hot performances from the Preston club competitors.
Brooks grabbed first place in the men's event with a time of 58.18 - one of only three times under the hour mark and nearly a minute ahead of his nearest rival.
