JUST one of the 26 Birmingham post offices threatened with closure has been saved from the axe, it was announced today.
Post Office Ltd is to press ahead with plans to close 55 post offices in the city and across Coventry and Solihull - despite a massive campaign for it to stop and think again. Last month the Birmingham Mail delivered a 7,000-name petition to Downing Street urging the Government to consult properly with local communities before making the decision to shut the branches.
