MEXICO CITY--Jun. 16--In his penthouse office, Jonathan Pikoff looks out the window at a skyline smeared with thick smog and sees a bright future.
Sitting at his desk in an immaculate suit, the 31-year-old former Austin resident pulls out a resume describing his law firm.
There are no big names on the client list yet, but it's been only three months since Pikoff opened his office in Mexico City's upscale Polanco district. And he thinks he's holding two aces -- knowledge of Mexican law and an expanding demand for legal advice from U.S. firms expanding into Mexico -- that will reward him handsomely in the future.
