A report, 'Pneumococcal infection in patients with coeliac disease,' is newly published data in European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. According to recent research from Oxford, the United Kingdom, "Some patients with coeliac disease are hyposplenic. Splenectomy is a risk factor for pneumococcal infection."
