Jun. 19--Along the tree-lined streets, in florescent-lit offices, over coffee in local cafes, and even in the solid brick edifice that serves as headquarters of The Hoover Co., a deadline loomed large yesterday over North Canton.
4:30 p.m.
It came and passed -- yet nothing had changed.
The North Canton maker of floor care products stood firm to its decision to locate a new production line -- and the 200 jobs that come with it -- at its nonunion plant in El Paso, Texas.
