This volume, consisting of an introduction and ten essays, is the first attempt to evaluate the impact of feminist scholarship on a number of the academic fields encompassed by the rubric "Jewish studies." In each instance the essays' authors address the state of knowledge about women and gender in their specific areas, consider the influence of such scholarship on the discipline in general, and suggest new avenues for research.
