A SENIOR councillor has vowed to dig trenches around Rugby Cattle Market to stop gipsies getting back on to the site after what he believes have been 'two weeks of hell'.
Leader of the Labour Group, Cllr. Jim Shera (Lab, Benn), said businesses were forced to lock their doors during the day and residents were trapped in their own homes in the Benn ward after travellers arrived on the Cattle Market site two weeks ago.
Rugby Borough Council has now forced them off their land but the damage left behind has angered Cllr. Shera, who is also the local ward councillor.
