JUNK mail is a thorn in everyone's side, but new research has shown that 136,136 items of junk are delivered to dead Amber Valley residents every year.
The news comes as Derbyshire is ranked as the third hotspot in the country for attracting rubbish through the letterbox.
The county's deceased residents receive an average of ten pieces of junk mail every month compared to the national average of eight.
The research was carried out by The Bereavement Register. Its founder Mark Roy said: "When we die our names and addresses do not die with us, they remain on company mailing lists and databases and it is very difficult to remove them. ...
