A RIPLEY man is to receive an award for his outstanding voluntary work for the St John Ambulance.
George Smith, 52, of Greaves Street was chosen for the
certificate of merit award by Ripley Town Council for his 40 years of hard work with St John Ambulance.
He is the ninth person to receive it with previous winners
including Susan Soult, who gained the award last year for her voluntary work with local organisations.
Mr Smith heard the good news the same day that his
