A GP banned from treating patients after giving sleeping pills to a woman so she could end her life will be allowed to keep his practice.
Health chiefs in Glasgow and representatives of the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland met yesterday to discuss Dr Iain Kerr's contract.
The 62-year-old GP believed NHS Glasgow would terminate it, ending his career.
But although his name will be removed from the list of GPs in the area until his six-month suspension is served, the health board said it would not scrap his practice contract.
