SEATTLE - Eddie Guardado's return to the Twins was a storybook success Monday night, as he pitched the Twins through the eighth inning with the lead.
Trouble was, All-Star closer Joe Nathan couldn't get them through the ninth.
Nathan blew his fourth save of the season, as Seattle scored one run in the ninth, sending the game to extra innings.
The Mariners walked off with a 4-2 victory in the 12th, when Adrian Beltre smashed a two-run homer off Jesse Crain into the Twins bullpen beyond the left-field wall at Safeco Field.
