Political powerbroker Stuart Levine learned early on how the game was played.
Graduating from Kent Law School in 1971, he soon came under the wing of his mother's cousin, Ted Tannenbaum, in 1976, doing legal work for him and helping him run his companies. That "help" included passing along bribes to secure contracts from public entities like the Chicago Board of Education and the city's department of streets and sanitation.
Levine testified Tuesday in the trial of Antoin "Tony" Rezko that he gave someone there $50,000 on behalf of Consumer Tire so that the company could get the street ...
