Blind, unemployed matriculants from the nine provinces have now been trained as Braille facilitators.

The visually impaired have taken matters into their own hands as they recruit and train their compatriots to read Braille.

The Kha Ri Gude (Let us learn) South African Literacy Campaign has extended its programmes to include the visually impaired.

In a five-day workshop, conducted at the St George Hotel at Irene, near Pretoria last week, 77 students were equipped with the necessary skills so that they can pass on skills to their communities.
