With the constant growth of demand for agricultural products, China's consumption of chemical fertilizers keeps increasing. The effective utilization rate of chemical fertilizer nutrients has, however, always been quite low. According to research, in China today, only 30%--35% of a nitrogenous fertilizer is absorbed by plants in the quarter that the fertilizer is applied, 10%--25% for phosphate fertilizer and 35%--50% for potash fertilizer. Such inefficient use of chemical fertilizer nutrients has not only wasted resources and caused other economic loss, but also affected the ecology.
