With colorful billboards and catchy commercial jingles, it's hard to ignore those companies that promise to buy your home within days, even hours. Maybe you have your eye on a bigger home but need to get rid of yours first, or maybe you have gotten yourself in over your head in debt and need a fast out. In a slower market where for-sale signs linger, some sellers choose to avoid the work involved when selling a home the traditional way and find themselves calling an 800 number to make a fast deal.
While the advertising is simple, the process can be complex for homeowners who don't fully understand how it works.
